Stagecoaches / Coaches for sale Kinnelon New JerseyStagecoaches were wagons that had wooden tops and wooden wheels. They had rows of wooden seats that people could sit on or the people could sit on top if they ran out of room inside. Horses would be hooked to the stagecoaches and they would pull it. The coaches were used to carry people from town to town because it was much faster than walking. Stagecoaches could go places that railroads couldn't go. They were used in the 1800's and were an important part of transportation.

| I've got an old carriage in northern NJ. My step-father purchased this item from a couple in the mid-late 1970's who had found it in an old barn in Sloatsburg, NY. My step-father had it restored in the mid-1980's over a period of 6-8 months by a restoration outfit in / around Lancaster, PA. I do not have any documentation on the restoration or purchase.
It is said to be a Tuxedo Jigger, originating at / around Tuxedo Park, NY. See historical pic at link below:

I've attached a few pictures of the carriage, and could provide more without too much trouble.
It's in very good condition, as it has not ever been used since the restoration.
I've been told that an enclosed coach of this size in this condition would be worth upwards of $20-$25K.
If you're interested and would like more information or pictures, please don't hesitate to contact me.
